Faculty Development Program
The Medical Education Unit (MEU) has organized basic course workshops on Medical Education Technologies (MET) under the observation of faculty from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) nodal centre for our Institution.
The Revised basic course workshop in medical education technologies was organized as per the guidelines of MCI, with good interactive sessions and group activities for participants. The workshop was evaluated by the observer and the feedback was obtained from the participants in each workshop. It was held in our Institution from 22th-24th July 2018. Dr. Vikas Menon, Additional Professor of Psychiatry, JIPMER, Puducherry was nominated by the Medical Council of India as Observer. 30 faculty members participated in the workshop, which was conducted with a lot of activity based sessions in keeping with the norms set down by the Medical Council of India.

The Curriculum Implementation Support Program (CISP) was held from 8-10 August, 2019. The resource persons were faculty from our college who attended and were trained at a similar program conducted at the regional centre for our zone, JIPMER, Puducherry. Dr Medha R, Additional Professor of Biochemistry, JIPMER, Puducherry was the Medical Council of India nominated as Observer. 29 faculty members were trained in this workshop.The purpose of which was to orient faculty to implement the new Curriculum Based Medical Education Program (CBME)in our Institution.

A symposium was held on scientific paper writing on 18.12.2013, where various experts spoke on topics related to the paper writing and publication ethics.

The first workshop on medical education technologies was held on 28.11.2016.
A workshop on scientific writing was organized by the department of Physiology on 4.12.2019 with a specific agenda of training faculty in the use of the Mendeley reference manager.

Workshops on research methodologies are regularly held for first year postgraduates to orient them towards research, and help them in choosing a research topic, and writing their dissertation.
