Institutional Distinctiveness

Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital & Research Centre on the Puducherry-Villupuram National Highway is committed to create a healthier society. The Institution is promoted by Ramachandra Educational Trust, Chennai. The Ramachandra Educational Trust was started with the objective of providing best treatment to the people both rich and poor through provision of high class facilities and services in all specialties as well as imparting quality Medical, Para-medical and Nursing education.

The key to a successful patient-doctor relationship or student-teacher relationship depends on effective communication between them. Communication is the bridge between two people for better understanding. But there are no proper guidelines or criteria to follow it. Hence, the Institution proposed to develop such practices in the hospital and to inculcate it among the budding doctors and the first initiative was done by the institute on 25th November 2019 by conducting a CME by Prof Dr. K.R. Sethuraman, Senior Professor in Medicine, Dean, AMIST University (Malaysia), Former Vice – Chancellor, SBV University, Puducherry, on the topic of “Effective Communication is a key to Successful practice” for all faculty members, PG students, CRRIs, of SVMCH & RC. This has given rise to the the idea of having an exclusive Communication wing to provide a continued teaching on communication at the institution.
